TE AWAMUTU.
Town Board. —Ihe usual monthly meeting, cf the Town Board was held on Thursday evening last. The Commissioners present were :—Messrs J. L. Mandeno (chairman), Geo. Aliicr, J. B. Teasdulo and W. North.—The various works in Brady-street, etc., were left iu the bauds of Messrs North, Mandeno and Teasdale to attend to.—The matter in connection with the poundkeeper was deferred for one-month.—A circular was received from the Sir George Grey Memorial Committee re subscriptions to the fund.—The circular was received.— Some discussion took place re the erection of new saleyarde. —Resolved to allow the matter stand for one month. CRniiLTY TO A Bouse-—At the Policecourt, on Wednesday last, before Messrs J. H. Mandeno and R. Bosauko, Justics, a native, from Wharepapa, near Kihikihi, named Wharekohe, was charged on the information of Constable Carroll, with riding a horse while suffering from a sore back. After hearing the evidence of the Constable, accused was fined os and costs 17s (3d. The animal's back was in a shocking state, and Constable Carroll is deserving of great praise for tiie prompt action taken. The fine was paid by the accused and his friends. —(Own Correspondent).
