■» — School Committee.— The usual monthly meeting of the Kihikihi School Committee was held in the school on Wednesday, November 30th. Present Messrs Kay (chairman), Thomson, Ogle, Clark and Wdson. The Inspector s (Mr Mulgnn) report on the standard examinations held in October, was received. The results in the various standards were published in The Waikato Argus some time ago. The report as regards the general work in the standards, school discipline and behaviour of the pupils was very favourable. The Chairman was authorised to make another application to the Auckland Board for a grant towards the clearingand fencing, etc., of the school acres which the Committee have decided on making into a paddock and playground. Mr Chapman (head teacher) reported that lie had the sum of £8 in hand, the proceeds of two concerts, towards the proposed school librarv, and it was resolved to start subscription lists with a view to obtaining the full amount, for which the Board grant a like {subsidy. There was some other little business with regard to minor repairs, etc., transacted, and several small accounts amounting to £2 Is, wore passed for payment. The Secretary reported that there was a balance in hand of £4 12s. Creamer?.—The local creamery is now in full swing under the popular management of Mr Walker. The total for the month of November was over 42,000 gallons of milk from 28 suppliers, and the daily average supply is now about 1500 gallons. Volunteering. —The local volunteers left here yesterday to go into camp with the Cambridge troop at that place, where they will stay for a week and undergo several hours’ drill each day. So far they have shown a great deal of enthusiasm and done good work at the local drills, though, of course, under much disadvantage at times. —(Own Correspondent).
