(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Last Night. James Hartley, a missing second-hand dealer, who left Motutapu in an open boat for Auckland, on the 6th inst., is believed to have been drowned. Martin Hodge, while working on the Reclamation, at Freeman's Buy, had both legs nearly severed from his body, by a locomotive engine passing over him. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. Christchuecii, Last Night. Mr J, G. Dempsey, an old resident of Lyttelton, was working on a railway truck, when a sling of timber struck him on the head. He died from the effects of the injury.
