Warden Poynton gave judgment at Riverton, holding that a lien for wages, due to miners, takes precedence over a mortgage even if the latter is given for money clue to the labourers. The decision is of great importance to persons advancing money on mortgage for mining ventures. Dunedin, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the JVlosgiel Company, the Chairman said during the last 25 years they had paid iu dividends and written off £170,000.
