TE KUITI.
Magazine Club. --A well-attended meeting was held in Mr Perry's Hall on Wednesday evening, for the purpose of forming a Magazine Clui< here, which, it is hoped, will be the nucleus of a Public Library.—On the motion of Mr Bennett, seconded by Mr P. Johnson, it was resolved, " That those present form themselves into a Society tor the puipose of forming a Magazine Club, and that the committee of the Club do all they can towards raising subscriptions for the purpose of subsidising a clergyman, to hold divine service periodically at Te Kuiti."—The entrance fee to the club wy.s fixed at 2s 6d, with a monthly subscription of Is 'lhe following committee was elected :—Messrs Mayo, R. S. Harris, Bennett, J. Orrmby, P, Johnson. P. R. Colebrook, and W. Bond.—Mr Mayo was elected hon. sec. and treasurer, and was instructed to obtain catalogues of magazines, periodicals, &c—A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Perry for the" use of his ball, and also to the chairman of the meeting (Rev. Mr Paget, the originator of the movement.) —A good number signified their intention of joining the Club, and a few pounds already appear on the subscription list for subsidising a clergyman.— (Own Correspondent.)
