KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the Kirikiriroa Road Board was held at the chambers, Hamilton East, yesterday afternoon. There were present : Messrs W. Chitty (chairman), Jno. Primrose, F. R. Scddon, and Thos. Paterson. Freshkieed Estate.—Mr B, B. Cox wrote, stating that the trustees of the Freshfiold Estate had decided to contribute two-thirds of the cost of opening a main drain from the Hukanui Eoad through the native reserve in the centre of the property. He suggested an alteration in the arrangement, viz., that the drain should be about 60 chains long, sft. wide on top, 2ft. 6in. on the bottom, aud 4ft. in depth. He thought if the drain were opened up it would provide sufficient stuff to make a road alongside.— The Board agreed to carry out their share of the work, and tenders will be called at once. Damage to Bridge.—The Railway Department wrote, repudiating any liability in connection with the damage done to Parker's Bridge, through sparks from a passing engiue.—Letter received. Subsidy.—Payment of subsidy amount ing to £32 Is Sd was notified by the Treasury.. Finance.—The Clerk reported that the Board was in credit £lll 7s, to this had to be added subsidy, and after payment of accounts to date, a credit balance of £lO9 remained. Foreman's Report.—ln his report the Foreman detailed the various works carried out since last meeting.—The report was adopted. Accounts :—The following accounts were passed for payment:—J, Franklin, £ll 5s ; J. Winter, 12s ; T. Slade, 7s (id ; Harry Hooper, £5 ; J. Gorman, £4 8s ; Law Costs, £2 19s 6d ; H. H. Gould, £6 ss; Audit fee, £1 6s Bd,; The Waikato Augus, £1 18s.
