ODDFELLOWS' BALL AT CAMBRIDGE.

This function, which is almost an annual one, was held in the hall belonging to the fraternity on Wednesday evening last, and was a most pronounced success. Everything passed off without a hitch, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves to the uttermost. Never did we attend a ball where the dancers kept going with greater vim than at this one, for after the musicians had fulfilled their contract and had departed, extras were played for fully two hours, and even at 4 30 a.m. there were many who seemed willing to continue the pleasure. Visitors were present from all the neighbouring townships, and some had travelled a considerable distance to attend. The floor was in excellent trim, thanks to a few of the Jeadiug members of the committee, and the music, which was supplied by Messrs Plescher, Stewart, Edwards and Hartly, gave satisfaction. Mr C. Clarke made a very efficient M.C., and the catering of Mr C. Boyce left nothing to be desired. The dresses were very handsome, aud many of the young ladies looked charming. It has been customary to name the belle of this annual event, but on this occasion we fear to do so, for opinions differ greatly ; but the verdict as to who wore the handsomest dresses seemed to be almost unanimous, namely, that the Misses Bukowsky aud Hjorth about tied for first place.
