(BY TELEOBAPH.-—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night. The steeplechaser Levanter was sold by auction by Messrs Hunter and Nolan to day. Mr J. Btckett was the purchaser at 255 guineas. " WELLINGTON RACES. (by telegraph—piiess association). Wellington, Last Night. The weather was fine for the second day's racing. The attendance was good, though far below that of the first day. The sum of £6944 was passed through the machines, which makes a total of £13,892 for the meeting, as against £11,830 at the Autumn meeting last year. The following are the results : Hutt Handicap. Crusoe 1 Firefly 2 Martyrdom 3 All started but Strathbraan. Crusoe led all the way and won easily by a length and a-half. Time, lm. 445. Dividend, £7 Is. Hack Welter Handicap. Rubin 1 Master Hume 2 Rochester 3 All started. Won by two lengths. Time, 2m. 2 3os. Dividend, £5 9s. Autdmn Handicap. Target 1 Waioku 2 Goldleaf 3 This was a slashing race between the first and second horses, Target winning very gamely by a neck. Time, 2m. 9s. Dividend, £6 12s. Hcbdijc Handicap. King of the Downs 1 Muucatel 2 Nectar 3 All started but Britannia. Won after a good finish by a length. Time, 2m/525. Dividend, £2 7s. Sobubban Handicap. Sir Launcelot 1 Dotterel 2 Okoari 3 All started but Hillstone and Aquatic. Wen after a good race by two lengths. Time, lm. 3s. Dividend, £2 2s. Hack Flying. Sylph 1 Rata 2 Hon. George + Off Chance Z All started Hit Rubin and Compulsion. Won easilv by a leDgth. Time, lm 21s. Dividend," £4 17s. Farewell Handicap. Kings Bowman 1 Firefly 2 Aquatic 3 Aifcstarted but Moonraker.
