(131 TELEGRAPH.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night. At a meeting of the stewards of the Auckland Racing Club this afternoon, letters were received from Mr A. E. Byers, trainer of Miss Nelson, and A. Hanna, solicitor, asking that the stakes in the Autumn Steeplechase be paid to Miss Nelson. It was resolved that, as no further evidence had been brought forward in the letters, the stewards decline to interfere with the previous decision, and the stakes therefore go to Magpie. Advices show that the steeplechaser Donald McKinuon has arrived at Flemiugton. It i 3 reported tint Tiritea, who accompanied him from Napier, died in Syd n ey.
