TAILORESSES' UNION.
(BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT). Wellington, Last Night. The Conciliation Board's award in the Tailoressea* Union dispute fixes the minimum wage of coat, vest and trouser hands at 30s, 25s and 20s, according to class ; machinists at 30s and 255. The number of apprentices is limited to one in every four operatives, but not two to be admitted in one year. The Board was not prepared to recommend universal indentures, but fixed the period for apprentices as follows :—Coat-making, three years ; vest and trouser hands, two years ; apprentices to be paid on a scale beginning at 2« 6d per week. On overtime, rate time and a quarter. The employers to give union hands the preference.
