THE HAMILTON REGATTA
A meeting of the Hamilton Regatta Committee was held at the Commercial Hotel on Thursday evening. Mr G-. Edgecumbe occupied the chair, and there were nearly a dozen present. The Secretary read the statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the regatta, as follows : —Receipts : Privileges, £l7 17s 6d ; gates, £43 2s 3d; entries, £ll 7s Gd ; donations, £(i Is 6u ; cards, £1 10s 4d ; shooting galleries, £1 ; cash advanced to be refunded by levy on committee, £2l 0s 2d; total, £lOl 19s 3d. Expenditure : Frizes, £64 19s 6d ; labour, £2 6s ; refreshments, £2; carting, freight, etc., £2 Is 6d ; gate?, £1 12s 6d ; baud, £6 ; tents, £1 12s 6d ; printing and advertising, £l7 4s; Domain Board, £2 3s ; sundries, £2 0s 3d ; total, £lOl 19s 3d. On the motion of Mr Sandes, seconded by Mr Manning, the statement was approved and adopted. Some discussion then took place as to holding another regatta next season, but it war, decided to leave the matter over until later on. This concluded the business.
