ASSESSMENT COURTS.
The following ;ire the places and dates appointed for holding the various Assessment Courts, viz: At the Courthouse, Hamilton, on Tuesday, 3rd Miy, at 11 a.m., for the Hamilton Borough, Ngaruawahia, Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Town Districts, Newcastle, Tuhikaramea, Pukekura, Rangiaohia Road Districts, and the Hamilton and Mangapiko Ridings of the Waipa County. At the Courthouse, Cambridge, on Friday, 9th May, at 11 a.m., for the Cambridge Borough, and the Whangamarin», Huntly, Kirikiriroa, Tamahere aud Cambridge Road Districts. At the Courthouse, Raglan, on Tuesday, 10th May, at 11 a.m., for the Kawhia County, the Onewhero, Te Akau and Kara in u Road Districts, Whangape, VVaingaro, Karioi and Piiougia Ridings, and the Onewhero and Karamu Ridings outlying of the Raglau County. It is expected that the sittings at each place will be ve<-y lengthy, as the Judge stated a few days ago that he understood the objections lodged were numeious.

An enormons file of objections has been received against the assessment under the Land and Income Tax. It is alleged that in some instances the valuation has been increased two and a half times from the former valuation,
