LAWN TENNIS.
Some members of the Mount Eden Tenn's Club, being on a visit to the Waikato during the holidays, advantage was taken to arrange a series of matches with the Hamilton Club. These were played on the local courts on Saturday afternoon and yesterday, and resulted as under : Misses A. Sandes and A. Jollv (H) beat Misses D. and S. Rice (B), 6—2, 2—6, 8-6 ; Miss S. Rice and Mr Heather (E) beat Miss Newell and Mr T. Jolly (H), B—3 ; Miss D. Rice and Mr Riee (E) beat Miss Gore and Mr W. Hume (fcl), B—4 ; Messrs Rice and Heather (E) beat Messrs and Blackburn (H), 6-0. 6—l, 6-3 ; Messrs Rice and Heather (E) beat Messrs J. S. Edgecumbe and W. Hume (H), 6—2, 6—2, 6—2. The result of the total games played was : —Mount Eden 66, Hamilton 33. Afternoon tea was dispensed on the Courts ou Saturday, and was greatly appreciated by the many visitors.
