WAIPA AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.
TIIK annual sports gathering of the above club was held on the club's grounds, Pirongia, yesterday, under the most favourable circumstances. During the past year the committee spared no efforts in improving the track, and the success with which they have been attended was freely spoken of yesterday. The fine day attracted a larger crowd than usual, and everything passed over smoothly. The pleasing strains of the Paterangi Brass Band adt.ed greatly to the enjoyment of many. The racing on the whole was not of a very interesting character, the limit men having been too kniently treated by the handieappers. The vavious officials, with the popular Mr Geo. Berry as Secretary at their head, worked hard in the discharge of their duties. The following are the results :•- 120 Yakds Hurdles.—W. I. Taylor (owes 13yds), 1; D. Bockett(owes 16yds), 2;S. C.
