AUCKLAND WOOL SALES.

(BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORBESPONPENT). Auckland, Last Night. The third wool sale of the season of the Auckland Wool-brokers' Association was held to-day. There was a good attendance of buyers and about 711 bales and packages were offered, the bulk being sold. Prices showed an advance ill some grades, lambs' wool showing a satisfactory rise. The Loan and Mer. can ile and Messrs Hunter and Nolan obtained 7d per lb for two lots of lamls' wool. Messrs G. W. Binneyand Sons opened the sales with a catalogue of 137 bales and 31 packages. The prices obtained advanced on all medium and inferior wools, and latnbswool advanced at least a halfpenny per pound, several lots telling at 6f d ; good crossb.eds, 6£d to 6|d ; medium, s§(l to Gd ; inferior, to 5d per lb. Locks and pieces sold freely at an advance. Messrs H unter and Nolan offered 149 bales, and 144 were sold. Prices showed a rise, lamls wool of Id to ljd, as high as 7d being obtained for lambswool. Crossbred sold from 5d to 6\<\ por lb; longwool, 5(1 to C{d ; lambswool, 4d to 7d ; Merino, 4d to4£d; pieces and locks, 2d to 4(1. Most of the fleece wool was rather inferior quality. Messrs Bucklaud and Sons offered 183 bales, of which 34 were passed. Oiossbred sold from 4£d to 6jd per lb ; longwool, 5d to Gjd ; lambswool, s}d to 6|(l. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency offered 211 bales. P>right fine lambs' wcol showed an advance of fully Id per lb. The Company secured the latter price for two bales of bright flue wool, tent by Thomas Hyde, of Clevedou. Inferior and medium lambs' wool, made to s|d ; medium crossbred fleece, s£d to 6id ; Merino, inferior aud dirty, 4hd to s§d ; pieces, 3d to 4d ; locks, to" 2d.
