TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

A MEETING of the Tc Awamutu Town Board was held in tli3 Board's Office on Thursday evening last. The Commissioners present were : Messrs J. L. Mandeno (chairman), Geo. Ahier, Wm. North and J. B. Tea-dale. Wateii-taklks.—The tenders received for cleaning out the various water-tables in the town boundury were as follows : A. White, Is Id per chain ; Bearsley and Bygrave, Is 3d per ohaiu.—After some little discussion it was decide 1 to accept Mr White's tender for a portion of the work extending from Roche's corner to the bridge. The overseeing of the work was left in the hinds of Commissioners Ahier aud Teasdale, who were authorised to have the other work proceeded with if this portion was done to their satisfaction. Beatsley and Bygrave are to he employed l<y day for other necessary repairs in the township. Cox's Drain. —Mr Teasdale was authorised to employ a man to do tlm drain at the back of the school, and to ascertain from the School Committee what amount they would contribute towards the work. Cokkespondenck.—Captain Jackson, S.M., wrote stating that he would see into the clearing of the furze, etc., about the courthouse paddock when next in Te Awamutu, Domain Board Account.—Rosolved that any monies accumulating in this account be transferred into the Town Board fund.
