Tins morn'ng William Knox, who escaped from the piison at Fort Cautley, and gave the police so much trouble, was brought before tl.c Police Court, charged with that on Bth December last he did escape from the Auckland prison, in wlr'ch he was serving a sentence of two jears. The prisenc", who was attired in prison garb, pleaded gu l'.y. When arrested he was wearing a goatee, and his hair was fairly long, but his appearance was now changed, he having his hair and beard short.
