Tiik Women's Libeial Lcaguo appears to be in a sorry state just now, according to the statements made at a meeting of the League lset niuht, ami tliere is uravo danger cf the body becoming defunct. How this strange posUion of affairs Mas brought about was explained by Wis Rule and Mrs Nicol, the forn er ol whom acted as Chairman. There were 15 members present out of a roll of 27, with a score of visitors. Only out; of the Executive put in an appearance. M:s Rule read a requisition signed by irnc members, asking the aet-ing-secietury (Mrs Hendre) to call a meeting lor die purpi.se of nominating ofiicers for the ensure year. The reply was not received untl after the present meeting was advertised. Mrs Hendre, on behalf of the Executive, declined to call a meting, on tic {.rounds that the I eague was in recess until Pailiamcnt mcctr in June, and that the funds did not warrant calling a meeting just now. Some very p'aiu talk was indulged in, showing a serious split in the camp Resolutions v. ere eanied protesting against the act : on of the Executive in going into recess contrary to the title?.
