PRESIDENT & MILLIONAIRES. Washington, January 29. President McKinley was tendered a banquet by millionaires representing a billion of money, at New York. Mr McKinley, in tho course of bis speech, said he adhered to the St. Louis financial plank, his reference being to the convention held at St. Louis just prior to tho Presidential election, at which it was decided to adopt a gold standard. The announcement was received with tremendous cheering, it being regarded as an absolute pledge that be will carry out his gold standard pledges.
