Bank and Gas stocks were weak, but Insurance shares were sought after. For New Zealands 66s was offered, but holders declined to quit under 695.: Nationals were asked for at 16-1 3d, and South British 50V9J. New Zealand Accidents continue ia favour, and, 21s was offered fcr New Zealaud River Plates. Buyers offered 15s 2d fcr Devonport, and Northern Steamship and Union Steamship were also sought after, while Union Oils were asked for at 17s 9d, and New Zealand Drug (contributing), at 355.
Mining stocks were stronger, Thames:' shares being in demand and several sales were quoted. May Queens sold at 7a 2d, 7s Id and 7s 3d, with buyers at 7s. Mcanatairis were also in favour and advanced in price, 9s 2d being offered, while transfers were made at 9s 3d. Buyers were in the market likewise for New Alburnias, Puru Consolidateds, Sheridans and Victorias. For Crowns 20s was, offered. New Zealand Talismans had buyers at lis. Woodstocks continue to improve, 22s 6d being ;the buj'ing quotation. On the other hand Bunker's Hills declined to 8d for sellers. Business was done in New Golcon das at 4d. ■ ,'
