WHATAWHATA RACING CLUB
A meeting of the committee of the above club was held at the Whatawhata Hotel on Saturday evening, Mr S. Jalder in the chair. The hon. sec. reported that all liabilities in connection with the late races had been paid, the total expenditure, including stakes, printing, band, etc , beinc; £77 123 41. The receipts, including cash in hand from the previous year, amounted to £74 lis, ehowing a small debit of £3 Is 4d. Against th\s th- re were subscriptions to receive, £6 ; feea due, £2 18s ; leaving a credit balance of £5 17s 4d.—The accounts were adopted. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the numerous friends of the club in the surrounding districts, and a similar compliment to the officials terminated the p oceedings. The programme for the Bay of Plenty Jtckey Club's annual race meeting, to take p'ace at Tauranga on Thursday and Friday, 17th and ISth February, will be found on our third page this morning. Ncminatipns for the handicap events must be in the hands of the secretary [Mr C. F. Hulme) Tauranga, by 8 p.m. on Friday, 21st January.
