WELLINGTON AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

(BY TKLEGRAVH—OWN COBRESPONDKNT)i Wellington, Last Night. Tiik Show opened to-day with line weather over head, but a strong northerly wind was blowing across the ground. Only cattle arid sheep wire judged coday. The show of sheep is a magnificent one, and experts declare it would be hard to beat it anywhere. The strong classes are Lincolns and fat sheep, for freezing purposes, both making a very fine show. D. Grant, of Ten.uka, swept the hoard in the English-Leicester class and also took the gold medal for the Champion rain and silver medal for the Champion ewe. Messrs Ecdwell, Buchanan, Booth, and Stuckey of the Wairarapa breeders, Dean, of liiccarton, and Lancaster, of l'almerston North, divided tho principal prizes for fat sheep suitable for freezing. T. Tanner, of Hastings, secured first prize for Lincoln ram above thirty months, with Perry Bros., of Wairarapa, second. Mr Tanner took all the prizes offered for Lincoln rams between 1S and 30 months of age. In Southdowns Williams and Beetham, of Wairarapa, took the first and champion prize for ram. Jas. Stuckey, of Wairarapa, took the first and champion prize for Shropshire Downs, In Hampshire Downs Messrs Elder and Morrison of Waikanao, took the first and champion for ram and also ewes. S. V. liurridge, of Lower Hutt, took most of the prizes in Ayrshire cattle.
