HAMILTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A meeting of the General Committee was held in St. Peter's Schoolroom at 3 p.m. yesterday. The arrangements for the show on the 24th inst. -wore fully discussed and the details nettled. It was decided to open the.show to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p m,, and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. all exhibits to be staged by 10 a.m. but those arriving by the morning train from the up-country stations to be allowed to be delivered a little later. It was decided to ask the Hamilton Town Band to play at the show in addition to the instrumental concert already arranged for. With regard to the classes for children's exhibits, it was decided to make no clnrges for entries, The charge for admission ta the show was fixed at Is, children half price. The Secretary reported that he had been in correspondence with all the chief nurserymen and flower growers in the province and had received numerous entries, so that in spite of the exceptionally unfavourable season the success of the show is already secured the entries to date (part of which are not for competition) are already sufficient to make a most interesting and beautiful display.
