OTOROHANGA.

School Committke.—On Saturday, the 19ch insfc., on adjourned meeting of householders was held to elect a School Committee for the present year. The following gentlemen were elected : Messrs J. "W. Ellis, J. Simpson, H. Bvrnand, J. Cribb, W. Cowley, T 7. R. Swinbourne and Charles J. Johnson. At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr J. W. Ellis was appointed chairman. Railway Works.—We are all glad to see that a sum of £2OOO has been granted for the Ohinemoa section. This is the section immediately south of the Tunnel.

Ohuka- Stratford Road. —Mr Hurst - house has lately been engaged in bore--lDg, etc., and deciding on the site for the bridge on this road over the Oluira River. It will be a large strncturc, as the river floods heavily.—(Own Correspondent).
