Captain Bremner.L.ine (sreond oflicer), Billett (apprentice), and Lyson (able seainiin) were examined, ai.il tin: evidence given was similar to ihe particulars pub lishccl at the time of the wreck. The Court found tint the cistnUy was the result of the vessel making more leeway than the captain calculated, and to surface set to north and north-west The Court considcied that the captain did till in his power for the vessel dur.tig the gale and for the preservation of life at the time of the wreck, and saw no r.as-on why his certifiea'e should not be returned. No ordir was made fjr costs. Mr Kenny, S.M., expressed the opinion that it is advisiblc for masters who arc strangers to the Niw Zealand coast to avail themselves of the tcrviccs ot the licensed coastal pilots.
