RIFLE MEETING.
(BY TJ.LKCIUI'II— own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night. To-DAY's firing at the Kiflo Championship Meeting opened with rainy weather, but the ruin soon cleared oIF and the sighting was very satisfactory for the rest of the day. The Wanganui match (700 yards) was won by Smith, of Oamaru, with 46, the second man being Gardiner, of the A Battery, Aueklaud, also with 46. Miss Whitney won the Lidies' Match ('2OO yards) with a score of 30; Miss White, second with 29 ; Miss Bates, thirl with Fourteen other ladies fired.
Chief Petty-officer Williams, of Wellington, won the Hawkcs' Bay Match (500 ami 600 yards) with a score of 96 ; Sergeant Macfailune, of Christchurch, being second, with 92. Sergeant Hanby, of Te Aroha, made 77.
The Marlborough-Kynoch Match (400 yards) was won by Hollard, of Petone, with 49 ; Hawthorne, of Wellington, being second. Williams, of Wellington, is leading for the Champion Belt aggregates, the Auckland man nearest him being H. Head, of Whangarei, formerly of the " A " Battery. McFarlane, of Oamaru, and the two Ballingers, of Wellington, are the chief prize-winners so far.
