MANCHESTER UNITY ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS.
(BY TELtORAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, Last Night. At the annual district meeting of the Manchester Unity Order of Oddfellows', Mr Avery, the Provincial Grand Master, said that some lodges in the district were not in a satisfactory state, the attendance being disappointing. The juvenile lodges are not as flourishing as they should be. The number of members is I'2SS. The balance - sheet showed credit balances, in the sick fund, £2-f,201 ; in the management fund, £1,292 ; in the central fund, £1032. A long discussion took place on the questiou of the establishment of a Board of Directors, and eventually the following motion was canicd by 17 to 6 :—" That this district is favourable to the formation of a Triennial Moveable Committee, when eight districts signify their intent on of joining." Mr Johnston, of Petone, was elected Provincial Grand Master.
