RAGLAN.
Wkokixg.—On Monday last a marriage took place at Mr Smith's Harbour View Hotel (the home of the bride). The happy couple were Mr Walter Morgan, of Raglan, and Mis- Ruby Howard. There was a 1 age number of friends present, the bride being a great favourite with the community. The olliciating clergyman was the Rev. C. A. Lyon, The bride, who looked charming in a tasteful white costume was given away by Mr Lauglcy, and was attended by Miss Liddell as bridesmaid, who wore a pretty pink costume. The other ladies present were also elegantly attired. After the ceremony the company wee entertained at breakfast in the large dining room of the hotel. The table was spread with all the delicacies of the season and was most tastefully decorated with spring (lowers. 'I here was of course a handsoim; wedding cake. Mr Mathias occupied the chair. The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr Langley and bent ly drunk, and the bridegroom returned ithunks in feeling terms. Several other toasts followed. In the evening a ball was held in the Public Hall to celebrate the event. Tin re was a huge attendance from all parts of the district, and dancing was kept up with spirit to an early hour. Mr P. Moon acted as M.C., and Mr McGill provided the music. School Examination - —Mr Petrie examined the school on Friday, loth inst. The result evidences the ellieient te,idling of Mr La Trobe. Twenty scholars were presented and 17 passed ; two having failed in Standard IV. and one in Standard Y.
