WAITETUNA.
Social AKD Daxuk.—The second social and dance under the auspices of the Waitetuna Social Club, ciune oil' in the Waitetuna solioolrcoin on Friday evening, the 13th November. There was not such a large muster, as is usual at these gatherings, howevc, those who were
present seemed to enjoy themselves. Messrs J. Pretty and \V. Armstrong supplied the ilaii-.'c music. The usual refreshments were provide.l and handed round at intervals during the evening. Several songs were given and were well received. Dancing was kept up with spirit till daylight. School Examination.—On Wednesday last Mr Petrie, M.A., Chief Inspector of Schools, conducted the annual standard examination at the Waitotuna school, which passed oil' vory successfully. All the pupils examined passed the ordeal but two, a result which must \>s exceedingly gratifying to the teacher, Miss K. M. Hot-pur, and satisfactory to the parents of the children. The Inspector's report of the discipline and conduct of the school throughout was also a satisfactory one. Inspkction ok I'ost okkicks. —Mr 1). Gumming, Inspector of Post-offices, has just completed his periodical inspection of the post-olliees in this district, and proceeded to Hamilton yesterday en route to the Hot Lake district.—(Own Correspondent'.
