NGARUAWAHIA ROWING CLUB.

A second scries of tiial fours was held under the auspices df Ihe Rowing Club, on Thursday afternoon, ami quite a number of sp?ctiUors assembled at the junction of the livers to witness the races. Four senior and two junior crews entered, and a really capital afternoon's amusement was afforded to the onlookers. The senior crews were :—(No, 1 crew) : K. Rathbornc (s'roke), J. KrieUson (No. 3), A. Dawson (No. 2). and IT. \Y. Henderson (No. 1). (No. •_> crew) : J. Marshall (stroke), H. McKenzie (No 3), F. Bailey (No. 2), and M. Skelton (No. 1). (No. :! crew) : S. James (stroke), T. W. Davics (No. 3). W. I'aterson (No. 2), and J. Brown (No. 1). (No. 1 crew) : A. Hammond (stroke), T. .Meredith (No. 3), A. Bond (No. 2), and W. Gubh (No. 1). In the first heat Marshall's crew met Hammond's, anil after a tough struggle the litter got home by about a couple of lengths. In the second heat James' boat got home by about a length in front of llatliborne's The final was very keenly contested between James' and Hammond's crews, but the fori) er proved the better of the two, and won by nearly a length. The junior crews were : —(No. 1) : J. Brown (stroke), W. Gubb (No. 3), A. Dalton (No. 2), and 11. Hunt (No. 1). (No. 2) : J. Kriekson (stroke), \V, Henderson (No. 3), E, Bailey (No. 2), and A. Bailey (No. 1). This was undoubtedly the best race of the clay. Kriekson led till near the finish, but by a well-timed spurt Brown caught liis opponent about fifty yards from the finish, eventually winning by a nose.--(Own Correspondent).
