The Cabinet Ist night approved of the following matters :—The acceptance of tenders for the mail services throughout the Colony, and the Land Purchase Hoard's offer to purchase under the Land for Settlement Act 4,128 acres of the Matainata estate and the offer by the Board to purchase 13,331 acres of Waikato lands belonging to the Assets Reali-ation Hoard, made up as follows, viz., 6,528 acres of the Okoroire e-tate ; '2,701 acres of the Karapiro Estate; 4,102 acres of the Rangiatca estate, comprising sections Nos. 1,0, and part of No. 2, Waikekau Block. Approval has also beeu given to the oiler made by the Board to purchase for a workmen's village 331 acres at Johnsouville, Wellington, within 200 yards of the Johnsonville Railway .Station, known as Jakes' farm.
