Taihape College meeting confusion
In last week's Bulletin there was a news story which needs clarifying. The story, headed "Taihape College meeting", was intended to inform readers of a planned meeting at Taihape of Waiouru parents who were interested in sending their children to Taihape College rather than Ruapehu College. ("Waiouru" was left out of the two paragraph story, leading to possi-
ble confusion. The Bulletin apologizes to readers for this error). Mrs Cheryll Robinson of Waiouru spoke to the Bulletin last week about the meeting, saying it had been planned because there was interest among a small group of Waiouru parents in sending their children to Taihape College. She
said the parents wanted to have a choice in which college their children went to, but said they were not necessarily planning to send their children to Taihape. She said the parents had looked at the possibility of providing a mini bus to take children to meet the Taihape
school bus but that there had not been enough interest from parents. Mrs Robinson stressed that the issue the parents were concerned about was that at present parents had no choice in the matter. She said there had been little support for the meeting in Taihape.
