Geographic board named

New Zealand Geographic, the national quarterly magazine due to be published next month, last week named an editorial board to formulate policy and uphold the editorial integrity of the magazine. The board comprises: Professor John M or-

ton, professor of zoology, Auckland University; Professor Grant Anderson, professor of geography, Auckland University; Mr Michael Stedman, head of the natural history unit, Television New Zealand; Mr Michael King, historian and author; Dr Cleve Barlow, senior lecturer in an-

thropology, Auckland University and Mr Graeme Hunt, journalist and public relations consultant. Ex-officio members comprise the magazine's publisher, M r John Woods, and editor, Mr Kennedy Warne. Sir Edmund Hillary has agreed to serve as

the magazine's patron and chair its expedition and scientific research board. The first issue of New Zealand Geographic will be launched by the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, at an official function in the National Library, Wellington, on December 6.
