'Vegymski' goes down well
Results of the Vegymski Competition held in Ohakune on Saturday, September 17. The recent annual Turoa Tumblers' Vegymski competition was a great success with participants coming from Auckland, Counties, Hawke's Bay, Bay of Plcnty, Wellington, Taranaki and of course Ohakune.
The event was a chance for the public to see members of the Mcn's Commonwealth team as well as National champions perform to a high standard. National Tearns results were: Melissa Jergensen, Myles Andrews, Adam Andrews, Laura Dennis, Craig Bruce 1st; Janine Bell, Heidi Newson, Nadine
Rae, Mark Jiynovich, Kerstin Gotz 2 nd; Fiona Brown, Stephen Kendall, Katrina Fricker, Warwick Hays 3rd. Veteran Teams results: Karen Hampton, Allen Prince, Elizabeth Newson, Ewan Cameron lst; Sue Mcllroy, Adam Duncan, James Blackmore, Victoria Wilcox 2nd; Katherine Moger, Jeff Harper, Janine Mcllroy 3rd. Results of the Grade Sevelr and Eight Charnpionships held i n Palmerston on Sunday, September 18.
Jessie Pope, Kerri Allerby, Denise Waerea and Kelly Swain represented the Turoa Tumblers in Grade eight with Kerri coming second equal on beam, Denise first on vault and Kelly first on floor and beam, second on vault and third on bars. The four girls came home with gold medals as they won the team event and Kelly had an extra gold meal as she came first overall. Their Palmerston visit was deemed a great way to end their competitive season.
