TREES CAUSE MINOR SEWERAGE PROBLEM
Work on the Rangataua Sewerage Scheme was to start last week. The start of the project was delayed by the recent bad weather, councillors heard at the last works meeting. Engineer Don Sattler told the meeting there was a small problem with the purchase of the land for the oxidation ponds. He said the plans would have to be altered to go around three trees that the Department of Conservation would not allow to be removed. The ponds are to be built on land which borders a scenic reserve. The land is to be purchased from DoC. Mr Sattler said the problem was minor and' wouldn't hold up the proiect.
