Raetihi coffee group
ipn Wednesday, Augupt 3, 30 ladies attended the silver jubilee c^Jlebrations of the Raetihi Ladies Coffee Hour. This activity started in 1963 at the opening of the then new open Brethren Chapel building in Queen St, Raetihi, and since then has been held on the first Wednesday of every month. The programmes have included many and varied demonstrations, items and speakers from various parts of New Zealand and overseas. The jubilee programme which followed the same pattern a s
usual for the monthly one, was supplied by three ladies from the Bay of Plenty, who visited for that purpose. Celebrations began with a special morning tea (or coffee) including a cake made by M r s Jackie Fraser. Mrs Fay Walker of Te Puke conducted a happy singalong with Mrs Beverley Martin of Whakatane on Piano. They, together with Mrs Barbara Martin of Tauranga, performed several much appreciated items. Mrs Barbara Martin gave an address, the theme of which was "Choice, not chance."
