Rifle club now on target

The Waimarino Smallbore Rifle Club has now firmly established itself on the Wanganui Association inter-club scene as one to be taken seriously. In Round four Marist, with 675.19, beat Waimarino 672.18. The handicap competition was 689.19 to Marist and 688.19 t o Waimarino. Waimarino is now third equal with four other clubs on four points in the championship competition but are second equal with RSA in the handicap competition on six points. Ken Summerhays and his young son Aaron are in the Wanganui representative teams to shoot in the Inter-As-sociations team postal competition, which is a competition between

all New Zealand Associations. • Ken is in the senior team while Aaron will be shooting for the juniors. Ken is also a shooter in the postal against an Auckland representative team. The best personal scores for the week are: Lynette Maru 99.4, John Scobie 98.4, Ken Summerhays 98.4, Bob McGiniss 98.3, Chris Bright 94.2, Russell MacLean 93.2, Tom Donaldson 90.2. Club members are taking full advantage of the new warm premises which they have worked so hard to obtain. Members are now able to wait comfortably in their warm building and enjoy indepth discussions o n the pros and cons of particular rifles and ammunition while shooters are on the ad-

jacent range. The Club is interested to have members of other rifle or gun clubs, deerstalkers or pig hunters come along. All equipment and ammunition is provided for a .small fee, and advice and training is given to anyone and everyone.

The club nights are on Thursday and Saturday at 7pm in the Produce Shed, Raetihi Showgrounds and anyone who has wondered what the indoor smallbore rifle shooting is all about is very welcome to go along and "Have a Go," say club members.
