Turoa itself will be on test over the next week. One of the VIP's visiting the skifield is Switzerland-based Mr Hans Schweingruber, the International Ski Federation fFIS) official responsible for coordinating men's World Cup races. He will be viewing Turoa's facilities and reporting on Turoa's capabilities for hosting a World Cup event. New Zealand ski team manager Adrian Farnsworth describes the response to BP-Europa FIS Series as a milestone for New Zealand skiing. ""Despite the cancellation of the women's event at Mt Hutt, we have been able t o attract a truly international brigade for the men's event at Turoa. "We're still receiving inquiries about the series and to have the confirmations we have now is very pleasing." Mr Farnsworth says the series will provide an excellent o p - portunity.
