CONGRATULATIONS FROM JIM BOLGER

Tourism has long been regarded as the industry with limitless potential in New Zealand. It is an industry that will make a major contribution to the nation's prosperity and our region makes an enormous contribution to New Zealand tourism.

The central North Island has some of the most magnificent wilderness areas in the country. It offers facilities for every form of outdoor pursuit from hunting, tramping, mountaineering, fishing or boating. It also offers some of the best alpine skiing facilities in New

Zealand. The two principle skifields of Whakapapa and Turoa on Mt Ruapehu offer modern facilities and magnificent skiing conditions. I would like to offer my congratulations to the Turoa Skifield which is commemorating its 10th anniversary. It is a tremendous

field which is expanding and upgrading its facilities every year.

My congratulations also to the Waimarino Bulletin for taking this initiative in actively promoting the recreational and sporting opportunities available in our region. I wish you all every success in your campaign.

Hon Jim

Bolger

MP, King Country.
