Raetihi fight back to win

A forward pack that could have matched a first division team faced Tech College Old Boys when they played the Raetihi senior rugby team on Saturday. The game went well for Raetihi after an initial period of silly mistakes which let TCOB in.

After the bad start and with crowd support Raetihi scored two tries before the break to even the game up somewhat. During the break the Raetihi coach did some rousing, with the help of an umbrella. Raetihi support became a little carried away in the second half, until the referee

stopped the game until the enthusiastic crowd pulled back behind the fence. Raetihi were refired in the second half scoring four more tries. Rangi Bishop got a bit of a hard time but held his own. Richard Allman at lock played aggressively and won lots of lineout ball.

Thomas Waara and Steve Gordon showed their good form and Gerard Hipango was very safe at full back. For TCOB Earl Fincham, Shaun Pleasants and Shane Foster played well. Final score was 2619 to Raetihi.
