PIPE QUOTES SOUGHT
Quotes are to be sought by the District Council engineer for sewerage work in the Raetihi "railway" subdivision. Plans for the subdivision have already been approved, the council heard last week, and sewerage in the area is a problem for septic tank users who are having to empty their tanks every two weeks. The decision to seek quotes and delegate authority to the district engineer was close with five councillors voting for the motion and four against. Some councillors felt quotes should be handled by the Works and Reserves Committee, at their meeting next month.
