Trespass charges dismissed
Nevil Philip Kcneth Bain, 34, sclf employed trapper appeared in the Ohakune District Court May 24 on a charge of wilfully trespassing on land occupied by William Cornellius. Because the prosecution witnesses were not present at the court the defendant's counsel called for the case to be dismissed. He said it would be the second time the case had been
deferred because witnesses had not turned up. Police said they had made attempts to make contact with the witness William Cornellius but he had no telephone and access to his property at Ruatiti was very difficult. Judge Lowe said it had been possible for the complainant to make the complaint on Turnpage 12
Trespass charges dismissed
From page 8 April 5 and that he had six week's warning of the hearing date. The charges were dismissed. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty to a similar charge from another date. He was granted bail to appear on August 5 for the defended hearing. In granting bail Judge Lowe said it was important the defendant keep off the property in question.
