BUS STOP FOR MAIN ROAD

New Zealand Railways have asked for permission to move the two Ohakune bus stops in Goldfinch Street to Clyde Street, outside their new office next to the AA Information Centre. The District Council were asked at their town planning committee meeting last week if they had any objections. Some councillors were strongly opposed to the move, including Mayor Workman who said the site was the worst possible in Ohakune. Cr Sue said the bus drivers were often inconsiderate when parking at the Goldfinch Street stop and that if that were to continue at the Clyde Street stop even bigger problems would be created.
