COUNCIL TO HIRE CLERK

An admmistration senior clerk who is leaving the staff of the District Council is to be replaced. District Manager John Murrihy said last week that there was no policy for the council to reduce staff by not replacing leaving staff as has been suggested through the Bulletin letters to the editor. Staff structure remains the same as that approved by the District Council steering committee before amalgamation, but with the senior clerk's position becoming vacant as a result of Mrs Janet Martin resienine.
