RED CROSS WEEK HERE IN THE WAIMARINO

It's Red Cross time this week and the Waimarino branch is blowing its trumpet about the good things it does for the community. They run first aid courses, they are involved with civil defence, they maintain the first aid posts on our highways, they help victims of such disasters as Cyclone Bola and other catastrophic events, natural and man made around the world. This week Red Cross will be calling for donations, the only time during the year. If you can help collect donations for the Red Cross call the Secretary of the Waimarino branch, Mrs Shiela Buck, 58610. "The people of the East Coast recently found they needed the help of Red Cross, please make sure help is available the next time," says Red Cross. It seems 'next time' is already here with the arrival of Cyclone Dovi. - Editor
