How to spend $75m

Today's Bulletin carries the last in a series of three feature articles on The Big Three tourist projects. The $75 million worth of development will add 1500 tourist beds to Ohakune if they all proceed. One object of the series is to make the developers account to readers for their promises and proposals at time-consuming town planning hearings. Today on pages 2 6 and 27 we investigate the $40 million Hamlet resort proposal. • PICTURED right is an artist's impression of the 200-room hotel to be built as part of the Hamlet. • BELOW is an impression of the visu-ally-exciting Railway Hotel development proposed for The Junction. To be built in two stages, the development will cost $20 million and is targeting the overseas tourist market.
