Bowls win
Members of the Ohakune Woemn's Bowling Club can afford to smile, despite their recent loss of the Simonsen's Cup to a Wanganui Team. Ohakune established a new record in the Wanganui district by retaining the cup for 27 successive challenges. They lost to Wanganui, who promptly handed over the cup to Durie Hill after just one challenge. Ohakune have since played Gonville for the Pluck Cup, which they retained after winning 21-18 last week.
