Golf report

Results of p 1 a y Sunday 19 July. Sponsors for the day were Waimarino Electrical and The Hobbit Restaurant and Motel. This was the second qualifying round of the club championships and players were blessed with another fine day. There was a good field of thirty-eight players, some of whom posted very good scores. In the junior division - Colin Turner 64 nett and the roarer's mug, John Hammond 68 nett, N. Donghi 70, T. Donghi 71, K. McDougall 72, F. Bright 73, G. Harvey 74. -Seniors - Garry Imhoff 67 nett, T. Tapp 69, D. Windle 70, R. Southee, J. Ennis 71, S. Magee 72. On the 17th hole the foursome of James Ennis, Stuart Magee, John Summerhays and Robert Donald all scored twos. Twos were scored by Arthur Berridge who also scooped the senior Bird's Nest and Kevin McDougall cleaned out the junior Bird's Nest. Next Sunday is the third round of the qualifying rounds for the Club Championships.
