Policeman starts soon
Raetihi's policing problems are over, with the arrival of a permanent Police Constable last week. Constable John Robinson took over the position from relieving Constable Wayne Mills, from Taihape. Constable Mills was temporary policeman for eight weeks, after the departure of Trevor Pullen at the end of April. Constable Robinson and his family came from Auckland where he worked at Auckland Central, prior
to that, he worked with the wharf police. Raetihi's Mayor Garrick Workman said he was delighted that the town again has a permanent policeman and commended the work done by Constable Mills. "Wayne Mills did a great job while he was here," she said. Mr Workman said the Robinsons had apparently scttled in well into the community.
