The Waimarino Golf Club has had a busy two weeks of competition at home and afield. Their club day held 31 May, was sponsored by Kui Griffin Ltd, and Littles Fashion Wearhouse, Ohakune. Sunday's game was sponsored by Raetihi Hardware and Factory Fashions, Ohakune. A junior and senior team were selected to represent the club at the inter-club match against Waiouru at Pearce Park on Saturday 13 June. The players are - Seniors: G. Imhoff, K. Summerhays, A. Berridge, R. Southee. Juniors: T. Donghii T. Frederick Snr, T. Frederick Jnr, M. Edwards. The club's pennant team played at Halcome against Apiti on Sunday 31 May, losing their game 6.5-2.5. They also played against Linton and lost 6-3. The resuits of play, Sunday 31 May at the Golf
Club. Seniors: B. Drinkwater 36, A. Berridge and R. Brown 31. Juniors: N. Donghi, R. Parson and T. Frederick Snr 39, N. Clark 36. Players are urged to take part in the Kennedy Cup, Town v Country game this Sunday at the Waimarino Golf Club. Resuits of the Raetihi Plunket's Charity Golf Tournament, held Saturday 6 June at the Waimarino Golf Course. Overall winner (women): Jan Taylor 66 net; (men): N. Donghi and R. southee lst equal, 69 net. Resuits: (men) A. Berridge 72, J. Ennis 73, T.Tapp 73. (Women) E. Rush 73, A. Summerhays 74, H. Cranston 75, N. Winter 77, V. Whale 78, A. Pritt 79. Prize to the non-golfer: K. Enright. The tournament was sponsored by Security and - General Insurance Company, and Pinex Timber Products.
